RBI Data Shows NBFC Credit Growth Hits 15% Mark in July

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released data on sectoral deployment of credit by non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) for July 2026. On a year-on-year basis, NBFCs' credit grew by 14.9% in July 2026 compared to 10.6% a year ago.

Credit to agriculture and allied activities recorded a robust growth of 18% in July 2026 as against 5.4% the previous year. However, credit growth in services sector moderated to 15.2% from 24.5% the previous year.

Retail loans growth accelerated to 21.4% in July 2026 compared to 13.7% a year ago. Within retail loans, 'housing' and 'loans against gold jewellery' segments displayed accelerated credit growth.
