RBI Teams Up with Bitpanda for Cross-Border Crypto Expansion

Share

Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), an Austrian banking group with operations across Central and Eastern Europe, is expanding its cryptocurrency ambitions through a partnership with Bitpanda.

The agreement will allow RBI's network banks to access crypto infrastructure through 'Bitpanda Enterprise,' enabling them to roll out digital-asset services in line with local regulations.

The potential reach of the partnership is significant, with up to 18 million customers potentially gaining access to crypto brokerage capabilities. However, the rollout is expected to be gradual, with each bank deciding how quickly and which products to offer.

RBI's CEO, Michael Höllerer, noted that the bank is responding to growing demand for cryptocurrencies across its markets, emphasizing a customer-focused approach to meeting client needs in a responsible way.
