Relai Secures Funding from Finance Influencer FinanzFabio
Swiss-based Bitcoin app Relai has secured funding from finance influencer FinanzFabio, also known as Fabio Marchesin. The investment is intended to support expansion and strengthening of the app.
Relai, founded in Zurich by Julian Liniger and Adem Bilican in 2020, allows users to buy and sell Bitcoin through a self-custody wallet in minutes. With over 100,000 users and 620,000 app downloads, the company is positioning itself for further growth.
Marchesin, who has been an advocate for Relai, will advise on marketing and positioning the app as a financial company in Switzerland and Europe. The investment is seen as a statement of intent to build a 'Bitcoin unicorn', according to both parties involved.
Relai differentiates itself through self-custody, never holding Bitcoin on behalf of customers, and has processed over $1 billion in cumulative trading volume since its inception. Its French subsidiary Relai EU SASU holds a MiCA licence from the Autorité des marchés financiers, opening access to the European single market.
