Remittix Tests Crypto-to-Bank Payments Ahead of RTX Token Launch
XRP continues to be a key player in the cross-border payments sector, but a new challenger, Remittix, is taking a different approach. While XRP traded near $1.50 on October 5, Remittix is focusing on direct consumer payments before its RTX token debuts on November 24. The project has invited 1,000 existing holders to test its EUR and USD PayFi options, which convert supported crypto into fiat delivered through compatible bank routes.
Remittix aims to create a seamless experience for receiving, holding, trading, and withdrawing money. The project has already seen success with over 10,000 iOS wallet downloads and more than $50 million in cumulative trading volume on its Markets platform. If early testers become regular users, RTX could gain traction beyond its token debut.
Global remittances reached an estimated $856 billion in 2024, according to the World Bank. Even a small share of these transfers could generate substantial annual volume for Remittix, along with recurring payment fees. RTX is intended for settlement and staking as the ecosystem develops, with an upcoming Earn feature offering up to 22% APY on eligible assets.
XRP's payments premium depends on the ecosystem's ability to expand its relevance. Remittix, which has raised over $32 million toward a $36 million cap, plans to turn PayFi invitations into repeat customer behavior. If successful, the payment opportunity could give buyers a larger story to follow after RTX's launch.
