Remixpoint Ditches Altcoins for All-Bitcoin Treasury
Tokyo-listed Remixpoint has made a significant shift in its cryptocurrency holdings, exiting four major altcoins in one trading session on September 1, 2026. The company sold all of its Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and Dogecoin, opting to focus solely on Bitcoin (BTC) moving forward.
The sale generated a total of ¥878.8 million ($5.5 million) in proceeds, with the majority coming from the sale of Ethereum and Solana. Against a combined book value of ¥761 million, Remixpoint booked a gain of ¥117.8 million, equivalent to about $737,000 in profit.
The company plans to use the proceeds from the sale to fund grid-scale battery storage projects instead of investing in new cryptocurrencies. Remixpoint has also been generating income through Bitcoin lending and staking rewards from Ethereum and Solana before their sale.
Remixpoint's move is part of a wider trend in Japan, where several companies are shifting towards a pure Bitcoin treasury strategy. Metaplanet, the country's largest such firm, recently added 2,823 BTC to its stack, while Strategy authorized Bitcoin sales for credit and dividend purposes.
