Retail Traders Shift Toward Macro Signals and Diversified Portfolios

Share

Retail traders are increasingly using AI tools to inform their investment decisions, according to a survey of over 6,000 users by Bitget, a Universal Exchange. The report found that half of retail investors now use AI tools, with 52% holding equities alongside crypto in their portfolios.

The survey also revealed that users are diversifying their holdings beyond crypto, with traditional assets such as gold and precious metals gaining popularity. In fact, the largest jump in non-crypto products was seen in gold, which climbed from near zero to between 20% and 40% of activity over the quarter.

Bitget's chief executive, Gracy Chen, noted that retail behavior is shifting toward macro signals rather than single-asset bets. She said users are moving capital across asset classes based on liquidity, volatility, and market access, and they increasingly expect one platform to support that efficiently.
