Revolut Data Breach Hackers Demand $3 Million in Monero

A group claiming responsibility for the Revolut data breach has launched an extortion site demanding $3 million in Monero. The hackers, calling themselves 'iamnotavillain,' posted a demand for 6,000 XMR alongside a 24-hour countdown on their website.

Revolut said its own systems and customer funds were not compromised, but around 680 customers across several European countries had sensitive information exposed, including names, home addresses, phone numbers, identity documents, verification selfies, IBANs, and transaction histories.

The attackers allegedly exploited an email account on a legitimate Italian government domain to submit fraudulent requests for customer information. Revolut complied with some of these requests before discovering the deception and blocking the address.
