Revolut Enters Crypto Market with Euro-Pegged Stablecoin EURR
Revolut, a leading fintech firm, has entered the crypto market with its first euro-backed stablecoin, EURR. This move marks a significant expansion of Revolut's presence in the digital asset space.
EURR is designed to operate as a euro-pegged stablecoin, maintaining an equal value to €1. The company claims that this will provide additional payment options for its users, allowing them to easily move digitally moving euros among cryptocurrencies, external wallets, and supported blockchain networks.
Revolut has launched EURR through its Digital Assets Europe Ltd, which is regulated as a MiCA crypto-asset service provider by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). The stablecoin is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a MiCA-regulated crypto-asset service provider and electronic money institution overseen by Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
This regulatory approval positions EURR as a reliable crypto asset for users seeking a way to trade euros digitally.
