Revolut Enters Stablecoin Market with EURR Launch in Europe

Share

Revolut has launched its euro-denominated stablecoin, EURR, in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The digital currency maintains a stable €1 valuation and operates across various blockchain networks and external wallet systems.

The token is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a subsidiary of Bridge purchased by Stripe for $1.1 billion in February 2025, under MiCA compliance standards. Revolut manages distribution through its CySEC-regulated infrastructure, enabling users to transfer funds seamlessly between euros, cryptocurrency markets, and external digital wallets.

Revolut's user base of over 80 million could substantially alter the distribution of euro-denominated stablecoins, which comprise approximately €450 million in circulation. The company indicates EURR represents an initial offering, with additional currency-backed stablecoins currently in development for comprehensive European Economic Area distribution by year's end.
