Revolut Faces $3M XMR Ransom Demand After Customer Data Breach

Hackers behind the Revolut customer data breach have demanded $3 million in Monero, threatening to sell the stolen records unless the bank pays within 24 hours.

The attackers used blockchain analysis to identify customers with large crypto holdings and selected 6,000 XMR as their ransom demand. This equates to approximately $500 per token, totaling around $3 million.

Revolut's systems and customer funds were not compromised; the breach occurred after the company received fraudulent requests through an email account using a legitimate government agency's domain.
