Revolut Hackers Demand $782 Million in Bitcoin Ransom After Leaking Client Data

Revolut, a European fintech company, has been targeted by hackers who exploited a fake government request to access customer records. The attackers tricked Revolut into handing over sensitive information, which they then published online.

The leaked data includes the personal details of high-profile clients, including tennis player Alexander Shevchenko and Gamdom CEO Felix Römer. The hackers have demanded a ransom of 10,000 Bitcoin, worth over $782 million at current prices.

Revolut confirmed that an unauthorized party had impersonated a government agency, using a legitimate domain email to submit fraudulent requests for information. The company blocked the address on detection and alerted relevant authorities, but declined to comment on the ransom demand.
