Revolut Rolls Out Euro Stablecoin in Three EEA Markets
Revolut has launched its first stablecoin, EURR, in three European Economic Area (EEA) markets: Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The rollout is part of a phased approach to introduce the euro-pegged token across additional EEA markets later this year.
The company partnered with Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity behind stablecoin infrastructure, to issue EURR. Revolut said it will integrate the token into its retail app and enable transfers across multiple blockchain networks, including sending funds to external wallets.
Revolut is also withdrawing Tether's USDt from the EEA and Switzerland due to regulatory concerns. Remaining USDT balances will be converted into customers' base currencies after August 31.
