Revolut Unveils Euro Stablecoin EURR Amid Tether Exit
Revolut has launched EURR, its first euro-pegged stablecoin, to eligible customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The fintech plans a wider rollout across the European Economic Area later this year.
EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity of Stripe-owned stablecoin infrastructure firm Bridge. Revolut's regulated crypto arm distributes the token under its own Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.
Revolut said EURR gives customers an on-chain option denominated in euros, as most stablecoins are pegged to the US dollar. The token launches on Ethereum, with support for additional blockchain networks and external wallet transfers to follow.
