Richwood Police Warn Residents of Cryptocurrency Scam at Gas Station

The Richwood Police Department in Brazoria County has issued a warning to residents about a cryptocurrency scam at a local gas station.

Scammers reportedly told victims to deposit cash into a cryptocurrency machine at a Shell station on North Brazosport Boulevard, and then send them a digital wallet address.

The police department advises that legitimate fines, arrest warrants, and court payments are never handled this way. Once cash is deposited into a cryptocurrency machine, it's typically unrecoverable.
