Riot Platforms Repays $200M Bitcoin-Backed Credit Line to Coinbase
Riot Platforms has completed its repayment of a $200 million Bitcoin-backed credit line provided by Coinbase Credit. The loan, which was secured in April 2026, allowed for multiple drawdowns and was used to support strategic initiatives and general corporate purposes.
The facility was backed by financial assets held with Coinbase Custody Trust Company, including Bitcoin (BTC), USDC, and cash. Riot reported holding 11,380 BTC as of June 30, with approximately $340.7 million worth of pledged holdings valued at that time.
The repayment notice was received by Coinbase Credit on September 21, and the lender's claims on pledged assets were released after settling principal and accrued interest. No early-termination fee or penalty applied to the repayment, as it occurred after the four-month anniversary of the agreement's original maturity date.
