Riot Platforms Repays $200M Credit Facility Without Penalties
Riot Platforms, a prominent Bitcoin miner, has successfully repaid its $200 million credit facility from Coinbase Credit. This significant milestone was announced in a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), revealing that the company finished paying the remaining principal and interest on Monday.
The facility had been secured by a pledge of Riot's financial assets, including Bitcoin, USDC, and cash, held in custody by Coinbase Custody Trust Company. Fortunately for Riot, no early termination fees or penalties were incurred as part of the prepayment or termination process.
This development comes on the heels of Riot's continued expansion into the data-center business. As reported earlier this year, the company secured a 20-year agreement to supply 191 megawatts of capacity from its Rockdale, Texas, campus to Anthropic, a leading frontier AI company, in a deal valued at approximately $9 billion.
Riot's revenue for the first quarter of 2026 stood at $167.2 million, with its data-center business contributing $33.2 million to the total.
