Riot Repays Coinbase Credit Facility, Freeing Pledged Crypto Assets
Riot Platforms has fulfilled its $200 million credit facility tied to financial assets that included Bitcoin, USDC, and cash. The repayment removes encumbered collateral from the miner's balance sheet as it continues expanding into data center capacity for AI customers.
The company fully repaid its Coinbase Credit facility incurring no early termination fees or penalties, freeing pledged Bitcoin, USDC, and cash collateral. This move comes after Riot secured a 20-year deal in August to supply 191 megawatts of capacity from its Rockdale, Texas campus, reportedly valued at about $9 billion with Anthropic.
Riot's first-quarter 2026 revenue reached $167.2 million, with the data center business contributing $33.2 million, signaling its increasing importance in overall revenue. The company is continuing to build out its data center operations alongside its bitcoin mining business.
