Ripple Advances Crypto Lending with XRP Ledger Amendments
Ripple has taken steps to advance crypto lending infrastructure by voting in favor of two XRP Ledger amendments, XLS-65 and XLS-66. These changes introduce single-asset vaults and a fixed-term lending protocol at the ledger level.
The amendments aim to enable native lending services using XRP and other XRPL-issued assets. Institutional credit checks will be handled off-chain, improving efficiency and security.
Security audits found no critical flaws in the amendments, and developers are preparing applications. However, the amendments require over 80% validator support for activation, which is currently at around 40% and 37%.
