Ripple Backs Compliance Platform to Grow Institutional Stablecoin Use
Ripple has invested in Notabene to expand the use of its RLUSD stablecoin among regulated financial institutions. This move comes as the industry shifts towards institutional-focused payment services, with companies like Circle and Tether dominating the market.
Notabene's network connects over 2,300 institutions across more than 100 jurisdictions, handling around $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume. The partnership will integrate Ripple USD into Notabene Flow, its business stablecoin payment platform, with plans to explore connections between Notabene's authorization tools and Ripple Payments.
Ripple believes that banks and payment providers need to know who they are sending money to, why the payment is being made, and how to approve transactions without creating delays. Notabene already provides this system through its network of regulated institutions, which could help move stablecoin payments from small pilot projects to wider commercial use.
