Ripple Backs Major XRP Ledger Upgrade Amid Institutional Push
Ripple has approved several major amendments in its XRP Ledger v3.3.0 upgrade, including Permission Delegation, which allows delegation of specific transaction type permissions to other accounts. This is part of Ripple's push for the XRP Ledger upgrade.
The vote by Ripple during the early voting stage signals the company's commitment to boosting stability, performance, and readiness for institutional and tokenization use cases. According to Jazzi Copper, product head at RippleX, Permission Delegation is crucial for regulated institutions to bring value on-chain, as it allows them to manage tokens with proper controls.
The XRP Ledger upgrade also includes amendments such as fixCleanup, Single Asset Vault, and Lending Protocol, which introduce XRP or RLUSD vaults and credit infrastructure. Node operators are required to upgrade to the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 release to avoid getting amendment-blocked once the major upgrade is activated.
