Ripple Bolsters AI-Powered Payments with XRP and RLUSD Support

Ripple has expanded the XRP Ledger's role in AI-powered payments by integrating support for XRP and RLUSD into the Machine Payments Protocol, a joint open standard developed by Stripe and Tempo.

The integration comes through version 1.1 of the XRPL AI Starter Kit, providing developers with new tools to build AI agents capable of making payments and managing blockchain wallets.

XRP and RLUSD can now be used for AI payments, covering services like API access, computing resources, data services, and other digital goods that AI applications may need to purchase automatically.

Ripple has also added support for XRP Ledger Payment Channels, enabling AI agents to authorize a series of payments while using a service. This eliminates the need to settle every small payment separately on-chain, creating multiple payment claims before finalizing the amount on the XRP Ledger.
