Ripple Bolsters Developer Suite with New AI Payment Standards
Ripple has expanded its XRP Ledger developer suite to support two new AI payment standards. The company announced the addition of Stripe and Tempo's Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) and Open Wallet Standard to its XRPL AI Starter Kit 1.1 version.
The MPP allows AI agents to pay for online services such as data, compute power, and more using XRP or RLUSD. Ripple aims to make XRP and RLUSD the preferred payment options for developers building applications.
Ripple's goal is to enable seamless payments between AI agents and service providers. The MPP enables agents to pay on-demand, with service providers quoting prices and delivering resources after payment authorization.
The Open Wallet Standard allows agents to initiate transactions without touching private keys, with built-in security features such as expenditure limits and whitelisted destinations.
