Ripple has invested in Velocity, a London-based stablecoin-focused payments platform, as part of a $10 million funding round that has grown to $48 million. This investment was not new for Ripple, as it had already been an investor in Velocity before the expansion.

The company, founded in 2025, aims to increase payment settlement efficiency by connecting traditional financial infrastructure with stablecoin rails. With the help of its platform, stablecoins can serve as a reliable layer for settlements.

Ripple's involvement in stablecoins has been notable, particularly after issuing its own RLUSD stablecoin. According to data from CoinGecko, Ripple's RLUSD currently has a market cap of approximately $2.4 billion, making it the 42nd largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
