Ripple CEO Garlinghouse Denies Being an XRP Maximalist
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has pushed back against the idea that he only supports XRP, stating that he is 'not an XRP maximalist.'
In a recent interview, Garlinghouse emphasized his bullish stance on multiple cryptocurrencies and highlighted the importance of evaluating XRP as a tool for cross-border payments rather than a belief system.
Garlinghouse pointed to Ripple's institutional business as evidence that their approach is working, noting that they have been minting a 'meaningful share' of stablecoin-related volume. He also stated that XRP could serve as a bridge asset in certain use cases, but acknowledged that a stablecoin could be just as effective.
XRP's price has taken a hit recently, down 6% at the time of writing and trading below $1.50.
