Ripple CEO Says Failed US Crypto Bill Won't Impact XRP Operations
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says the recent failure of the Clarity Act in the US Senate will not affect XRP or Ripple's operations. The bill, which aimed to provide clarity on cryptocurrency regulation, fell short of the required 60 votes by a margin of one vote.
According to Jake Claver, who attended an event where Garlinghouse spoke, the CEO based this assertion on the legal precedent set in Ripple's court case with the SEC three years ago. 'XRP has clarity,' Claver said, summarizing Garlinghouse's comments.
Garlinghouse also expressed support for the Clarity Act, stating that it represented a step forward in crypto regulation. However, he emphasized that its failure will not hinder the progress of cryptocurrencies in the long term.
