According to XRPScan data from September 2026, Ripple remains the largest identifiable holder of XRP, with approximately 4.095 billion XRP across 31 accounts.
The company also has roughly 35.7 billion XRP in escrow, which was originally placed into cryptographically secured escrow contracts by Ripple to facilitate scheduled monthly releases.
Major cryptocurrency exchanges occupy several leading positions in the top XRP holders list, with Upbit holding around 6.394 billion XRP across 13 accounts and Coinbase controlling approximately 5.819 billion XRP distributed across 342 accounts.
