Ripple Expands Brevan Howard Partnership with Multi-Asset Prime Brokerage Access
Ripple has strengthened its ties with Brevan Howard, one of the world’s largest alternative investment managers, as it continues to expand its footprint in institutional finance. The partnership, announced on October 6, allows Brevan Howard access to Ripple Prime, a multi-asset prime brokerage platform that offers clearing, financing, and trading services across different asset classes. This move reflects the growing demand from major investment managers for infrastructure that bridges traditional and digital assets.
Alan McGroarty, Group COO of Brevan Howard, highlighted the strategic value of the collaboration. He noted that Ripple Prime’s platform provides operational ease and capital efficiency, which are increasingly important as digital and traditional markets become more interconnected. The partnership is significant beyond standard client onboarding, as Brevan Howard affiliates previously participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025 following Ripple’s legal settlement with the SEC.
Ripple Prime, acquired by Ripple for $1.25 billion and formerly known as Hidden Road, is the first crypto firm to own and operate a global multi-asset prime broker. The platform clears over $3 trillion annually and serves more than 300 institutional clients. It recently launched a Delta One institutional trading platform, enabling clients to execute Total Return Swaps across US-listed equities, indices, and digital assets, with the ability to cross-margin exposures across asset classes.
The expansion of the Brevan Howard partnership aligns with Ripple’s strategy to move beyond crypto and establish a stronger presence in Wall Street. This latest development underscores Ripple’s ambition to provide comprehensive infrastructure for institutional investors navigating both traditional and digital asset markets.
