Ripple Expands EU Reach as XRP Trades Rangebound Amid Regulatory Milestones
XRP is experiencing a rangebound trading session despite regulatory developments in Europe that could shape longer-term demand. As of August 6, XRP was changing hands at $1.0483 on CoinMarketCap.
However, price action has been soft across multiple timeframes, with XRP down 1.57% over the past 24 hours and 2.88% over the week. The token's circulating supply stood near 62.53 billion XRP, giving it a market capitalization of approximately $65.56 billion.
Ripple has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA)-aligned Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), coupled with its existing Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license. This provides a single compliance framework to offer institutional-grade services across 30 countries in the European Economic Area.
The XRP Ledger has expanded its interoperability footprint through an official integration with cross-chain network Axelar, allowing XRP and supported assets to move across more than 80 blockchains without relying on bespoke bridge deployments. This approach improves security and user experience by reducing dependence on fragmented bridge architectures.
