Ripple Expands Wall Street Footprint with Brevan Howard Partnership
Ripple, the company behind the XRP cryptocurrency, has strengthened its partnership with Brevan Howard, one of the world’s largest alternative investment managers. The expanded collaboration, announced on October 6, will grant Brevan Howard access to Ripple Prime, a multi-asset prime brokerage platform that offers clearing, financing, and other services. This move reflects the growing demand among institutional investors for infrastructure that bridges traditional and digital assets.
Alan McGroarty, Group COO of Brevan Howard, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, noting that Ripple’s platform is designed to enhance operational efficiency and capital management. The collaboration builds on a history that began after Ripple settled its legal dispute with the SEC, when Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment in 2025.
Ripple Prime, previously known as Hidden Road before Ripple acquired it for $1.25 billion, has become a key player in the institutional trading space. The platform recently launched a Delta One institutional trading service, enabling clients to execute Total Return Swaps across US-listed equities, indices, and digital assets. It also allows cross-margin exposures across different asset classes through a single counterparty relationship.
With over 300 institutional clients and more than $3 trillion in annual clearing volume, Ripple Prime is positioning itself as a major force in Wall Street. The partnership with Brevan Howard further solidifies Ripple’s strategy to expand beyond crypto and establish itself as a leader in multi-asset financial services.
