Ripple Expands XRP Ledger with Machine Payments Support

Ripple has updated its XRP Ledger (XRPL) AI Starter Kit to support machine-to-machine payments using the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), developed by Stripe and Tempo. This allows AI agents to make automatic payments for APIs, data, and computing services.

The new system supports single payments that settle in three to five seconds with fees below one cent, as well as session payments that can process up to 100,000 payment vouchers per second.

Ripple's Head of Product Jazzi Cooper stated, 'Our job is to make XRP and RLUSD first-class options wherever developers are building.'
