Ripple Expansion Can't Save Slumping XRP
XRP has seen significant losses over the past year, dropping more than half its value from an autumn peak of $3.08 to a summer low under $1.00 before rebounding to around $1.42 as of September 15.
Despite this recent increase, the overall trend remains negative, and there's a paradox at play: Ripple continues to expand globally while its affiliated digital asset trades like a distressed asset.
The main issue facing XRP is monetary velocity, which allows for high transaction volumes without sustained buying pressure. As Ripple's cross-border payment platform settles transactions quickly, capital doesn't linger in XRP format and is instead converted into local currency and liquidated almost immediately.
