Ripple Integrates XRP into Stripe's Agent Payment System

Ripple has made significant strides in its partnership with Stripe by integrating XRP into their agent payment system. This system allows for automated transactions between software without human intervention, and Ripple's integration enables the use of XRP in these transactions.

The Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) is a key component of this integration, allowing for seamless communication between agents and service providers. XRP Ledger 3.3.0's Permission Delegation feature allows another account to perform specific transaction types, rather than having full control. This feature is essential for the agent payment system, as it enables software to request services and pay for them automatically.

The integration of XRP into Stripe's agent payment system has significant benefits for holders of the asset. Streaming micropayments between machines are exactly where a fast native asset with settlement finality excels, and XRP is well-suited for this purpose. In contrast, Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD cannot handle complex transactions like sessions.

Ripple controls only one element necessary for generating revenue from the integration - implementing the upgrade that allows RLUSD to handle streaming transactions. Until then, XRP will remain the preferred choice for agent payments on Stripe's platform.
