Ripple Lawsuit Architect Clayton Tapped for AI Czar Role
Jay Clayton, the former SEC chairman who oversaw the landmark lawsuit against Ripple, is expected to be named the White House's new artificial intelligence czar. Clayton currently serves as director of national intelligence and has been confirmed for that role since July 28.
Congress had already started discussing AI during Clayton's confirmation hearing, where he referred to it as a 'game changer.'
Clayton's history with the crypto space is well-documented. He took over the SEC in May 2017, which coincided with the initial coin offering mania. In December 2017, he stated that many of these token offerings looked like securities offerings.
