Brazil's Central Securities Depository (CSD BR) has partnered with Ripple to mirror securities records on the XRP Ledger. This integration involves real fund shares from BTG Pactual, one of Brazil's largest investment banks.

The first phase of the project uses XRPL's Multi-Purpose Token standard, which allows for a wider variety of asset types than its original token infrastructure allowed. Ripple Custody provides the asset security layer, keeping private keys and access controls within an institutional-grade framework.

CSD BR manages over BRL 22 trillion in registered assets across Brazil's financial markets and operates under the supervision of the country's securities regulator (CVM) and central bank (BCB). The partnership was executed without requiring new regulatory approvals, suggesting that it was designed to operate within current rules.
