Ripple Plugs Stablecoin into $13 Trillion Corporate Treasury Pipeline
Ripple's Treasury platform has made significant strides in embracing digital assets, specifically its native stablecoin RLUSD. The platform processed $13 trillion in payments volume last year, all of which involved traditional fiat currencies. However, with the recent upgrade to support digital assets, corporate treasurers can now manage RLUSD alongside traditional currencies on a single dashboard.
The upgrade, announced on April 1, 2026, brings native Digital Asset Accounts and Unified Treasury features to the platform. This allows CFOs to manage liquidity more efficiently, translating directly into cost savings for large enterprises managing cross-border cash flows.
Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse has characterized this $13 trillion payments flow as untapped territory for stablecoin and digital asset settlement. The company's Treasury SVP Renaat Ver Eecke noted that 'digital assets have reached the CFO's desk.' RLUSD, which has a market capitalization of approximately $2.42 billion, holds approvals from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) and the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
