Ripple Price Squeeze Looms as Shorts Pile Up
XRP's price has been trading near $1.48 over the past day, down by only 0.5% from yesterday.
However, an analysis of the derivatives market paints a different picture: short sellers have aggressively piled in even as the asset gains ground on a multi-day view.
This accumulation of shorts has led to a potential squeeze scenario where XRP could surge higher if the selling pressure is alleviated.
The data shows that between September 16 and 28, XRP's All-CEX Estimated Spot Cumulative Volume Delta fell from around -$2.27 billion to roughly -$2.70 billion, indicating continued aggressive selling across spot and derivatives markets.
Despite the selling pressure, XRP gained 15% over the period, climbing from $1.30 to $1.49.
