Ripple has extended its partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi's blockchain research program through 2027, providing continued funding for researchers.

The university described the grant as a renewed six-year support for work led by professors Raša Karapandža and Yaw Nyarko, co-directors of its Center for Technology, Economics and Development.

The partnership focuses on applied blockchain research, with students working with the XRP Ledger in courses and projects. The researchers aim to examine whether decentralized technologies can improve market efficiency, reduce trade barriers, and support broader access to economic opportunities.

Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) spans more than 60 universities across 27 countries and has supported over 1,500 research projects. The company has expanded its commercial presence in the UAE, opening a larger Middle East and Africa headquarters in Dubai and launching regulated products.
