Ripple Secures $275M Funding as XRP Price Bounces Off Key Support
Ripple's prime brokerage business has secured $275 million in funding, a move that comes as the company continues to expand its presence in the digital asset space. The funds were raised through an inaugural notes offering, which saw significant support from investors. Noel Kimmel, head of Ripple Prime, commented on the success of the offering, stating 'The robust support we received for our inaugural notes offering is a testament to the strength of our business today, and confidence in our long-term vision for the growing intersection of traditional and digital asset financial infrastructure.'
Meanwhile, XRP's price has shown signs of strengthening, with some analysts predicting that it could trigger the token's next big move. A strong bounce off the key $1 support level could be a catalyst for further price action, according to FXEmpire. However, trading volumes for XRP remain thin, accounting for just 2.5% of the asset's circulating market cap.
Elsewhere in the crypto market, a significant increase in liquidations has been observed over the past 24 hours. According to CoinGlass, total liquidations have spiked to $1.70 billion, with Bitcoin (BTC) accounting for $1 billion of that total. Ethereum (ETH) also broke through the $2,000 threshold, a level that has previously marked the beginning of bull markets.
The current market dynamics are reminiscent of the flash crash on October 10, which triggered a bearish cycle. However, it remains to be seen whether this latest move will have a similar impact or if it will mark a turning point for the crypto market.
