Ripple Stands Firm Amid CLARITY Act Defeat
Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty expressed confidence in the company's and its digital asset XRP's legal foundations despite the legislative deadlock of the CLARITY Act in the U.S. Senate on September 15.
The bill, which had previously passed the House of Representatives in July 2025, was blocked by a 49-50 vote, failing to meet the required 60-vote threshold.
Alderoty noted that the 2023 federal court ruling established XRP as not being a security, and further emphasized this point on his Twitter account, stating 'Don't forget, Ripple and XRP stand on settled ground.'
The ruling also decoupled programmatic transactions of XRP from classification as investment contracts.
