Ripple Strengthens Türkiye Presence as Crypto Market Nears $200 Billion
Ripple is expanding its presence in Türkiye's burgeoning crypto market, which has seen annual transaction volumes exceed $200 billion. The country's retail trading activity reached approximately $40 billion in early 2026, solidifying its position as one of the top five countries for crypto adoption. Türkiye's growing interest in digital assets is driven by economic pressures on the lira, prompting businesses and financial institutions to seek regulated infrastructure for secure transactions.
Ripple's strategy includes strengthening its custody solutions through partnerships like Garanti BBVA Kripto, which uses Ripple's technology for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP operations. The company is also promoting its dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, through platforms such as BiLira and Bitlo, catering to the increasing demand for dollar-linked liquidity in the region.
Türkiye's crypto market has evolved significantly since 2024, when stricter regulations were introduced by the Capital Markets Board (CMB). These regulations, including licensing and anti-money laundering requirements, have provided a clearer framework for digital asset service providers. Ripple is capitalizing on this regulatory environment to offer custody, compliance, and stablecoin solutions in a market with high crypto adoption rates.
The shift towards institutional adoption in Türkiye highlights the market's maturity beyond retail speculation. As banks and financial companies seek assurance in certification, Ripple's solutions are gaining traction. The company views Türkiye as a key market for its offerings, particularly as the demand for stablecoins like RLUSD grows in response to economic uncertainties.
