Ripple Surges to Top Spot in C1 Fund Portfolio Amid Growing Institutional Interest
Ripple Labs has taken the top spot in C1 Fund's portfolio, surpassing Payward Inc., the parent company of Kraken. According to the fund's second-quarter update for June 30, Ripple represented 17.49% of C1 Fund's net assets, while Payward had a 16.92% share.
A partial share buyback by Ripple generated a 141.5% return for C1 Fund, which helped explain the company's larger portfolio weighting. This transaction occurred over roughly four months and involved a portion of C1 Fund's Ripple investment.
Institutional interest in private digital-asset companies continues to grow, with traditional investment firms expanding their exposure to Ripple and XRP-related products. Kinetics Internet Portfolio disclosed 1,875 Class A Ripple shares valued at about $246,319 as of June 30, representing a 0.1% stake in the fund's net assets.
The distinction between Ripple equity and XRP remains important, with owning Ripple shares representing an ownership interest in the private company, while XRP is a separate digital asset. Institutional participation in both areas points to broader acceptance of crypto-related financial instruments.
