Ripple-SWIFT Rumors Send XRP Community into Frenzy Amid Sibos 2026
The XRP community is abuzz with speculation about a potential alliance between Ripple and SWIFT, the global interbank messaging network. The rumors began at Sibos 2026, where both companies appeared to be in the same industry spotlight. SWIFT unveiled its blockchain-based shared ledger, while Ripple Treasury was present to discuss its own payments ambitions.
Ripple's connection to SWIFT is already established through GTreasury, which inherited SWIFT connectivity and displays certification for cash-management services. However, this existing relationship remains focused on connecting corporate treasury platforms with banks and SWIFT's messaging infrastructure, with no XRP integration confirmed.
Despite the lack of a formal partnership announcement, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has projected that XRP could capture 14% of SWIFT volume within five years. This prediction suggests significant adoption potential for the token if a deal materializes.
