Ripple Tackles Quantum Threat, XRP Ledger Sees Record Liquidity
Ripple is taking a major step in securing its XRP Ledger by making it quantum-resistant. As investors pay more attention to networks with strong quantum-resistant capabilities, Ripple's move could give it an advantage over other blockchains. The network is working on post-quantum cryptography and has proposed a pathway for quantum-resistant signatures, aiming to be fully post-quantum by 2028.
This effort may also contribute to the growth of the XRP Ledger's liquidity, which hit a new record with its stablecoin market cap reaching $1.13 billion. The native stablecoin RLUSD led the pack, growing over 18% in market cap during the last month.
The quantum-proofing initiative could provide a safety net for institutional adoption as the network seeks to benefit from increased liquidity. With critical on-chain indicators pointing higher, Ripple's move may be its strategic step ahead of the critical Q4 XRP cycle.
