Ripple Unlocks 1 Billion XRP from Escrow
Ripple's monthly escrow unlock has released 1 billion XRP, leaving approximately 31.28 billion in lockup under the company's management.
The latest transaction was completed on September 1 and is part of Ripple's ongoing escrow mechanism initiated in 2017 to manage the supply and distribution of XRP.
The escrow release unfolded through three distinct blockchain transactions, with 500 million, 400 million, and 100 million XRP being unlocked from Ripple-controlled escrow accounts.
Ripple's original escrow structure locked away 55 billion XRP in 2017, with a cap of up to 1 billion XRP becoming available at the start of every month.
