Ripple Updates XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit for Automated Payments
XRP's price hovered around $1.30 on Thursday as Ripple developers rolled out Version 1.1 of the XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit to facilitate automated payments between software programs.
The updated toolkit supports the Machine Payments Protocol, an open payment standard created by Stripe and Tempo, which enables automated software agents to request digital services like market data or server power.
The service system sends back a payment request message, and the software agent can pay the bill directly using XRP or RLUSD without human intervention. RippleX Product Lead Jazzi Cooper emphasized that the goal is to make XRP and RLUSD top options wherever programmers build new software.
The upgraded system gives automated programs two ways to send money on the network: direct payments for single orders, which settle in three to five seconds with fees under one cent per transaction, or dedicated payment channels for continuous service use, which sign digital payment vouchers off the main network at speeds above 100,000 per second.
