Ripple XRP Ledger Batch Upgrade Nears Vote Threshold
The Ripple XRP Ledger's Batch upgrade is nearing its vote threshold, with 30 out of 35 validators supporting the change as of September 20. The activation deadline is set for September 29, 2026, at 14:06 UTC, but it will only be confirmed if at least 28 validators maintain their support for 14 consecutive days.
Batch offers native atomic settlement, allowing multiple transactions to succeed or fail together rather than processing independently. However, this feature does not require XRP to function, so its impact on token demand is uncertain.
Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, stated that asset managers and commercial projects are already working with Batch ahead of launch, although no specific firms or deployment timelines have been disclosed.
