Ripple XRP Ledger's Batch Upgrade Nears Activation Threshold
Ripple's XRP Ledger is nearing activation of its Batch amendment, which would introduce native atomic settlement and multiple transaction modes. The upgrade has 30 of 35 validators supporting it as of September 20, but requires at least 28 validators to maintain their support for 14 consecutive days.
The Batch feature groups two to eight regular transactions into a single main transaction that governs their execution. It offers four modes, including the 'all-or-nothing' setting, which lets an asset transfer and its corresponding payment settle simultaneously, canceling the entire batch if either leg fails.
Ayo Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, stated that asset managers and commercial projects are already working with Batch ahead of launch. However, no specific firms or deployment timelines have been disclosed.
