Ripple's $15 Billion XRP Push Fails to Impress Markets
Ripple's XRP Ledger is set to handle a significant influx of assets, according to Ripple executive Luke Judges. The Brazilian infrastructure project, in collaboration with CSD BR, aims to place digital representations of BTG Pactual investment-fund shares on XRPL using its Multi-Purpose Token standard.
The first phase of the project will mirror records for selected BTG Pactual fund shares, and if successful, CSD BR plans to consider trading and additional assets, including Brazilian real estate. The $15 billion Brazilian issuance is expected to represent approximately $15 billion of assets on the XRP Ledger.
XRP bulls have defended the token's price drop as 'lunacy' following the announcement, with analyst Dark Defender predicting a long-term route toward $750, $1,000. However, reaching this price would require XRP to rise by around 67,500%, making it worth several times more than the current combined value of the world's largest publicly traded companies.
