Ripple's Global Push Has Yet to Impact XRP Price

Ripple's efforts to expand its global presence and attract new financial partners have not yet translated into increased demand for XRP. Despite the company's acquisitions, collaborations, and pilot programs, the token has continued to fall in value. In August 2026, XRP dropped below $1 for the first time since 2024, and although it rebounded with a 52% price increase in one week, it remains down by 50% over the last 12 months.

Ripple's recent purchases, including the $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road, have expanded its capabilities but not directly influenced XRP's price due to the token's design. Every transaction on the XRPL destroys only a minuscule fee of 0.00001 XRP, which does not tighten the coin's supply or lift its value.

As a result, there is little reason for new investors to buy XRP unless sentiment or macro factors change. Existing holders may also want to hold onto their tokens as the U.S. Senate prepares to vote on the Clarity Act in mid-September, which could provide a boost to the entire crypto sector.
