Ripple's Jazzi Cooper Calls XRP a 'Killer Use Case' in Institutional Credit
Ripple's Head of Product, Jazzi Cooper, has confirmed that XRP is a 'killer use case' as collateral for institutional credit. This comes from a public statement made by Cooper on September 11, 2026. The confirmation highlights the potential of XRP in traditional credit markets.
The XLS-65/66 lending protocol supports this use case, allowing institutions to access on-chain credit facilities using XRP as collateral. This gives XRP a productive function beyond speculative holding or transaction fees, positioning it similarly to Treasuries or other liquid assets in traditional repo and credit markets.
The Ripple-backed credit fund involving Clearpool and Cicada Partners is already structured around this model, utilizing XLS-66-governed facilities to lend RLUSD to fintech and payments firms. With XRP as accepted collateral, institutions holding the asset gain direct access to that liquidity.
